Language is an indispensable thing in human society, which acts as a bridge between people communication. Different languages exist in different regions and countries, each of them has its own unique charm and role. Now let’s talk about the “language” of electronic meter -- communication mode.

 

IR communication(Infrared Radiation Communication) is one of the wireless communications, which is suitable for low-cost, point-to-point data connection. When it communicates, the transmitting end modulates the baseband binary signal into a series of pulse train signals, and transmits the infrared signal through the infrared emission tube; The receiving end converts the received infrared signal light pulses into electrical signals, and then sends them to the demodulation circuit after amplification, filtering and other processing for demodulation, and returns to binary digital signals for output. It has the characteristics of fast transmission rate, short communication distance, high security and wireless transmission.

 

RS485 communication, on the basis of RS232, solves the problems of short communication distance, low transmission rate, common ground noise and inability to suppress common mode interference . The RS485 data signal uses a differential transmission method, also known as balanced transmission. It uses two twisted pairs, usually represented by A and B, and the logic "1" is represented by the voltage difference between the two wires + (2-6) V; The logic "0" is represented by the voltage difference between the two wires-(2-6) V. The signal level of the interface is lower than that of RS-232-C, making the chip of the interface circuit less susceptible to damage, and the level is compatible with the TTL level and can be easily connected to the TTL circuit.

 

NB-loT communication is a narrow-band Internet of Things based on cellular and has become an important branch of the Internet of Everything. NB-IoT is built on a cellular network and consumes only about 180KHz of bandwidth. It can be directly deployed on a GSM network, UMTS network or LTE network to reduce deployment costs and achieve smooth upgrades. NB-IOT , with the characteristics of wide coverage, multiple connections, low speed, low cost, low power consumption and excellent architecture, focuses on the Low Power Consumption and Wide Coverage (LPWA) Internet of Things (IoT) market, and is an emerging technology that can be widely used worldwide. NB-IOT uses the license frequency band, and can adopt three deployment methods: in-band, guard band, or independent carrier, and could coexist with the existing network.

 

LoRa is the abbreviation of Long Range. It is a kind of low-power wide area network communication technology and is an ultra-long-distance wireless transmission scheme based on spread spectrum technology that adopted and promoted by Semtech in the US. The emergence of LoRa wireless technology has changed the way of considering the compromise between transmission distance and power consumption. Not only can it achieve long-distance transmission, but also has the characteristics of low power consumption, multiple nodes and low cost.

 

Power Line Communication (PLC) technology refers to a communication method that uses power lines to transmit data and media signals. PLC communication technology transforms the original signal into a high-frequency signal by modulation and loads it onto the power line for transmission. At the receiving end, the modulated signal is taken out and demodulated through a filter to obtain the original signal and realize information transmission. It has the characteristics of fast transmission rate, wide coverage and energy-saving safety.

 

GPRS is the abbreviation of General Packer Radio System, which is a technology between the second and third generations, and is also known as 2.5G. GPRS introduces two new network nodes on the original GSM network based on circuit switching (CSD): GPRS service support node (SGSN) and gateway GPRS support node (GGSN). SGSN and MSC are at the same level, and track the security function and access control of the storage unit of a single MS, and realize the connection to the base station system through frame relay. GPRS network is a packet-type data network, with the characteristics of wide coverage, fast data transmission, high communication quality, always-on and flow rate billing, supports TCP/IP protocol and can directly communicate with Interner, and communication has no geographical restrictions.
